Highlights - Final

The defending champion Mike Russell found himself up against the current Indian National Billiards and Snooker Champion, 24 years old Pankaj Advani.

By the time Russell made a 72 break with his 10th visit, Advani was well over 600 points in front. He continued racking up the points with a string of big breaks, and at the bell ending the first session was some 650 in the lead, leaving Russell a challenge for tonight.

Mike Russell recorded a 100 break at his 9th visit, but it was immediately negated by a series of breaks again from the Indian. Russell definitely improved on his afternoon scoring, but Pankaj Advani ran out a worthy winner to add to his World Amateur titles, along with his Nationals.

Pankaj Advani (against Dhruv Sitwala) (Match Average 19.9) :: 182, 85, 142(Unf)

Highlights - First Semi Final

The first session was definitely in the favour of the young Indian player, building up a lead of nearly 200 against the defending champion, but in the second session, Russell started to flow, and after his 166 and 267 breaks never looked in trouble. Shah could only manage a poor 272 total points in this session, missing really elementary shots. So Mike Russell is in tomorrows Final, hoping to make it  his 10th World Title.

Highlights - Second Semi Final

Both sessions were extremely close, with Advani taking a slender lead forward to the second 2 hour session. It was nip and tuck throughout, and with approx 13 minutes left, the 24 year old Indian National Champion at both Billiards and Snooker, compiled a 142 break to defeat his fellow countryman, a much improved Sitwala. Pankaj now has the task of taking on one of the greatest Billiard players of the modern era in tomorrows final.
