Asian 6Reds and Team championship announced open in Karachi, Pakistan

 

 

Jubilee Insurance Asian Team and 6Reds Snooker Championships 2014 flags off today at Hotel Avari Towers in Karachi Pakistan.

 

Today at opening ceremony, Mr. Tahir Ahmed, the Managing Director of Jubilee Insurance, played the opening shot and announced start of the tournament. Jubilee Insurance is the main sponsor of the tournament.

 

Other dignitaries present during the opening ceremony were Pakistan Federation's President and ACBS Vice President, Mr. Alamgir Sheikh; ACBS General Secretary, Mr. Michael Al Khoury from Syria, ACBS Treasurer, Mr. Joseph Lo from Hong Kong and Mr. Munawwar Shaikh from Pakistan Federation.

 

 

The Pakistani players had an impressive day and each cueist from Pakistan registered a win in 6Reds matches.

 

Former World Champion, Muhammad Asif featured comfortable win against Mahanna Naseer Obaidli of Qatar 5-2 and in the evening match, he blanked India's Ketan Chawla 5-0. Asif also made a break of 71 points in last frame in this match.

 

From India, Kamal Chawla won both the matches he played today 5-3 and 5-2 against Lin Tang Ho Alan of Hong Kong and Lim Chun Kiat of Singapore. Another Indian player, Varun Madan lost the decider against Boonyarit Kaettikun of Thailand. Varun started with an impressive 65 points break and was leading 3-1 when Boonyarit controlled in remaining frames to win the decider.

 

Syrian player Karam Fatima, after losing to Hamza Akbar of Pakistan, survived in the decider frame of his second match against Ali Ahmed Yousofi of Afghanistan.

 

World 6Reds bronze medalist, Mohsen Bukshaisha won his both matches. In first match he blankedPunit Popatlal of Bahrain 5-0 and in next he outplayed Nader Khan Sultani of Afghanistan 5-2.
