Indian contingent comprises
of Pankaj Advani, Manan Chandra and Sundeep Gulati started on winning node
in Asian Snooker Championship 2016 commenced today at Doha, Qatar.
India’s ace cueist Pankaj Advani was in a great form and quickly sum-up
the match in his favour 4-0 against Sulaiman Almisfer of Saudi Arabia.
Advani took less than an hour to finish B/o 7 match and walks out as a
winner. During the match, he also scored two breaks of 67 and 69 points in
2nd and 4th Frame (84-26, 81(67)-06, 76-23, 70(69)-15).
Earlier today, Manan and Gulati had their matches in first session and
both won 4-2 against Sohail Shehzad of Pakistan and Amir Sarkhosh of Iran.
Manan, after winning the first frame, went down to two but made a
commendable comeback with a break of 41 points to come at par. After that
he did not give any chance to Sohail and cleared both the remaining frames
to win 4-2 against Sohail. (67-48, 27-55, 25-79, 91-05, 62-17, 62-14).
Manan also has another match later tonight.
Similarly, Gulati also went down 1-2 after winning the first frame against
Amir and then he snatched two frames to gain 3-2 lead. The sixth frame was
dicey where Amir recovered to chase more than 30 points trail but Gulati
held his nerve and finally sealed the frame 74-60 to win 4-2
(16-72,104(79)-07,58-56,40-81,42-93,60-74).
The fourth Indian player, Ishpreet Singh will play his first match
tomorrow at 1300 hours. |
