Ishpreet
upset Joaker to meet Advani in Last16;
MANAN, GULATI CRASHES OUT IN
LAST-32
Doha: 20 April
2016
India’s young sensation
Ishpreet Chadha reaches the Last-16 stage of Asian Snooker 2016 scoring
massive break of 134 in the match winning frame against UAE player
Mohammed Al Joaker.
Ishpreet was down one frame when he took charge and snatched the second
frame to come at par. He continued the zeal in next frame and gained lead
by scoring fabulous break of 87 points.
Joaker, however, tried a comeback but fall short in fourth frame as
Ishpreet moved ahead scoring 54-36. Already in command, Ishpreet cracked
up with a massive break of 134 to close the match proceedings in style.
Ishpreet will now
meet the reigning World Snooker Champion, Pankaj Advani who knocked out
Alijalil Ali of Iraq, 4-1.
However, there is some disappointment in Indian camp as next two players,
Manan Chandra and Sundeep Gulati crashes out of the championship after
losing in Last-32 stage against Karam Fatima from Syria and former World
Champion Muhammad Asif of Pakistan respectively.
Gulati ran at par till fourth frame but after that lost control as Asif
potted well in next two match frames with an impressive break of 61 in
fifth.
Manan fought hard against Syrian lad Karam Fatima but his efforts went in
vain when he failed to save the decider and lost.
Initially Manan was leading 2-0 but Karam bounced back to come at par 2-2.
After that both scored 58 points break in next two frames and set decider.
The decider was tough where Manan was down by 51 points and attempted good
recovery but after scoring 37 points, he missed that and Karam cleared the
table to cause upset. |
