Manan, Ishpreet crashes out
from the Men’s Snooker at Asian Billiards Sports 2016
Former World
No.3 Manan Chandra and current Asian Junior No.3 Ishpreet Chadha made an
exit from the Men’s Snooker discipline of Asian Billiards Sports 2016,
which is being played at Al-Fujairah, UAE.
Manan Chandra
had won the morning session match against Khalid Fakhouri of Jordan 4-1,
but in the pre-quarter finals tonight, he couldn’t save the decider
against Arman Dinarvand of Iran and lost 3-4.
Manan was down 3 frames but he made an outstanding recovery to come at
par. In fact he was leading 51-42 in the decider with one red on table,
but couldn’t hold till the end and lost the deciding frame 51-60.
Although
there are no space of excuses in sports, but it is worth mentioning that
Manan's cue lost during air-travel to Al-Fujairah. He played with a
borrowed cue in the competition and facing all these odds, he performed, is
itself commendable. It is easily understandable, how difficult to adjust
with a gazette with which a player is not used to.
The other Indian
player Ishpreet Chadha failed to open his account in the competition and
lost his first match against Khalid Kamali of UAE 2-4.
With this the Indian challenge in Men Snooker (Individual) discipline
ends. They both will now play together in the doubles snooker event, which
will start on 29th September.
