Sourav, Siddharth qualifies to reach in Billiards knockout at Asian Billiards Sports 2016
 

Indian billiards players Sourav Kothari and Siddharth Parikh qualifies for the single elimination knockout stage of 100 UP Billiards event in the inaugural Asian Billiards Sports 2016 being played at Al-Fujairah.

Siddharth was placed in Group A where he defeated both the opponents, Tion Wen Shun of Myanmar and Minhu Baek of South Korea, with an identical score 3-nil and grabbed the top-seed position for knockouts.

On the other-side, Sourav Kothari struggled in the opening match and surprisingly went down 2 games against Soheil Vahedi of Iran. In that do-or-die situation, he played cautiously and won next three frames narrowly to save the match. After that he won against He Baoying of China 3-nil to step in the knockout stage.

In Team Snooker event, Indian trio Manan Chandra, Sundeep Gulati and Ishpreet Chadha settled for Bronze.

In Women 9Ball Pool event, Meenal Thakur defeated her compatriots Aradhana Naik (7-2) and Keerath Bhandaal (7-5) in losing bracket. She is now a match away to reach in the medals round and she has to take on Akram Mohammadi Amini of Iran by whom she lost her first match in the winning bracket side.
