Team India-1 led by Pankaj Advani alongwith his team-mates Manan Chandra Malkeet Singh, have settled for silver medal at the Asian Team Snooker Championship 2018 after losing to team Pakistan-1 (Muhammad Asif, Babar Masih) 2 frames to 3.

India had a bad start by losing first frame where Pakistan’s Babar Masih made an opening break of 81 points against Pankaj Advani.

In second frame, Malkeet Singh took on Muhammad Asif and snatched the frame scoring break of 52 points.

India had a great chance to take lead as the duo Pankaj/Malkeet were leading by nearly 60 points in third doubles frame but on first chance Asif made a controlled clearance to take away the frame by 2 points (72-70).

However, India continued the fight and Pankaj sidelined Babar Masih in fourth frame crafting break of 68 points to bring the match at par.

In deciding frame Malkeet played good safety till more than 15 minutes but a mis-calculated shot on brown allowed Babar Masih to get on the decisive position, which he converted into two breaks to seal the frame 98-18. With that India finished as No.2 and claimed Silver medal.

Earlier in the Semis-final, team India-1 defeated Pakistan’s another team Pakistan-2 by 3-2 where Malkeet Singh played outstanding in the deciding frame to defeat Muhammad Majid Ali to enter in the finals.
