Kamal Chawla triumphs ...

Kamal Chawla of Railways crushed Dhruv Sitwala of PSPB to clinch the title in the BSAM-organised All India 9-Ball Pool at the Islam Gymkhana, Mumbai on 3rd November 2006.

In the race-to-11 final, Chawla romped to a convincing 11-1 victory to upset the favourite. Earlier, in the race-to-nine semi-finals Chawla crushed Mumbai's Sarang Shroff 9-3, while Sitwala beat Rishabh Thakkar 9-8 in a thriller. Sitwala led 5-3 at one stage before Thakkar surged to a 7-5 lead in dramatic fashion. But Sitwala utilized his experience with a late burst before sealing his place in the title round.

Chawla earned a Mumbai to United Kingdom air ticket from Atlas Holidays, while Sitwala received Rs.8,000 as the runner-up.

Results: Final: Kamal Chawla bt Dhruv Sitwala 11-1. Semi-finals: Kamal Chawla (Rlys) bt Sarang Shroff 9-3; Dhruv Sitwala bt Rishabh Thakkar 9-8.
