BILLIARDS
Devendra Joshi (BPCL) was in great touch when he overcame former
World Billiards Champion Pankaj Advani (ONGC) 3-2 to lift the PSPB
Billiards Crown. Both Plaeyers came up with Century breaks one after
the other to enthrall the Goan spectators with some scintillating
display of World Class Billiards and superb ball control. Locked at
two games a peace, it was Joshi who triumphed in the end with an
unfinished break to take the final frame and the title of the
ranking billiards event. Sourav Kothari beat Shahbaz Khan 2-0 to
take the 3rd spot in the billiards event.
In the Billiards Team Championship IOC beat fancied BPCL & OIL beat
GAIL

Devendra Joshi (BPCL) was in his elements when he easily overcame
compatriot Shahbaz Khan (BPCL) 3 -1 in the Semi Final of Billiards
event. Devendra would have won 4-NIL, if he had not gone out of
position in the first frame when he was on a break of 134. Shahbaz
did well to capitalize and take the first frame with an unfinished
brea. From then on it was Devendra Joshi all the way as he went
about his business and showed his class with deft touch that kept
caressing the ball at the top of the table with his famous floating
white technique. He closed out the match leaving Shahbaz a mere
spectator in the last frame when he made an unfinished break of 150.
In the other semi, Pankaj Advani (ONGC) got better on Sourav Kothari
(ONGC) 3-1. Pankaj will play Joshi in the final now.
