Kunal wins the
1st All India Cubs Snooker Tournament
Kunal Lamba, a
student of Mann Public School, Delhi won the 1st All India Cubs
Snooker Tournament beating Haryana’s Digvijay in a convincing score
of 3-1. Though Digvijay won the first frame by holding his nerves
and potting the double black but from that moment onwards it was
Kunal all the way. The next three frames were totally one sided as
the scores of 47-14, 37-06, 52-09 indicates. Even though having lost
Digvijay displayed sparks of brilliant potting and a great sense of
game, convincing one and all, that good times are ahead for this 11
year old.
Earlier in the day the two semi finals were also played. On table
one, as expected, Kunal totally out played Lucknow player Aniket
Gupta and won the match 2-0 but on table 2 a much more exciting
match was expected between Nikhil Singh and Digvijay but that was
not to be. Tough the match started with Nikhil leading all through
out the first frame but the pink and black pot by Digvijay seemed to
have broken Nikhil’s spirit and the second frame saw no fight from
Nikhil at all. Digvijay was outstanding and displayed maturity far
beyond his age in the second frame winning it with a convincing
score of 38-15.
Prizes were given
away by Lucknow Cue Sports Association’s Secretary Tanuj Kohli and
the thank you note was delivered by Vivek Pathak, Chairman, Cue
Sports India.
