Anuj Uppal - He Came! He saw! He Conquered!

It was great to see Anuj Uppal in his old form once again as he demolished any and all opponents that came his way in the Triloki Nath Memorial - North India Open 2014. Even though he had a busy schedule playing three matches a day but nothing seemed to distract his concentration and it genuinely seemed he thoroughly enjoyed playing the game (the most important medicine for winning).

It is not that he did not have tough matches but he always came up on top. His semi finals match against Malkeet was a cliff hanger but even there he squeezed through to reach the finals. Maybe the presence of his son, Krish, was the inspiration and maybe Krish brought luck with him. In any case it was a pleasure watching him on the table playing perfect pots (no jaws required) with perfect placement.
