India’s star cueist, Pankaj Advani (representing ONGC) started his
national snooker campaign in great style. In the opening frame of
his first match today, he hit massive 125 break against Tushar
Shreshtha of Bihar.
His break was one of the best tutorial where he played most of the
time on top-table resulting in pocket 9 black. In next frame also,
Advani scored break of 62 points to cement his lead to 2-0. Though
Tushar got some scoring shots in third frame and he scored 32 points
but Advani went ahead to seal the frame 62-32 and registered first
win of the league stage.
In another
match, previous year’s No.2 and Railway player E. Pandurangaiah
suffered shock defeat by the hands of Mumbaikar Mukund Bharadiya. In
first two frames, Mukund curtailed Pandurangaiah to single digit
score before hitting the last dent in third frame where somehow
Pandurangaiah managed to score 36 points against 63 of Bharadiya.
There were three walkovers awarded to Dharminder Lilly, Dhruv
