Alok earns silver, Arantxa claims bronze at World Snooker 2019
Indian player Alok Kumar earned silver medal at the World Snooker
Championship 2019 for Masters category after losing to Suckakree
Poomjang of Thailand.
Alok Kumar was unbeaten during the group stage matches and obtained
second seed for knockout, where he won his matches comfortably but
spent extra time to defeat Chinese player Li Jian Bing 5-4.
In the final he gave a good start but failed to capitalize second
frame and went down 5-1. His last attempt to save the match also
went in vain and he lost 6-2 and earned claimed silver medal for
India.
Indian women player Arantxa Sanchis also claimed bronze medal for
India. After qualifying for knockout stage, she won her first match
against Jessica Woods of Australia and then knocked out Bai Yulu of
China to confirm medal.
Later she lost to Nutcharat Wongharuthai 2-4 to settle for Bronze.
