Poona Club, Pune Markers on a roll
Poona Club scored two wins a row, while Pune Markers continued their splendid run winning the third match on the trot and maintaining a clean slate in the league team matches at the fifth edition of the PYC –ATC Snooker Challenge 2008 tournament organized and played at PYC Hindu Gymkhana Club here today.
In a Group D match Poona Club ousted Temptation Stars 3-0, and CME 2-1 to record two wins in day, the team comprising of Kapil Punjabi, Muneez Poonawalla and Sonu Gurudutta played brilliantly to win against Temptation Stars, in the match against CME Nishant Aurora who was substituted for Muneez Poonawalla went down to Maj Nikhil Kumar by 2 frames to 1.
Pune Markers comprising of Vishal Shete, Manoj Kadam and Kumar Shinde won their third match against Corner pockets 3-0 brightening their chances to enter the knockout stage and having to win only one of their two matches.
Hustlers Royal scored their second consecutive win putting out Deccan Gymkhana 2-1 in a Group G encounter, while Oasis scraped past TPJ Destroyers 2-1 in a group B encounter.
