Cue Sports India (Seniors), Hustlers Royals enter knock-out round
Cue Sports India (Seniors), Husslers Royals won their league team matches and made it to the Super16 stage at the fifth edition of the PYC–ATC Snooker Challenge 2008 tournament organized and played at PYC Hindu Gymkhana Club here today.
In Group 'H' last years runners up at the event Cue Sports India (Seniors) represented by national players Kamal Chawla, Risabh Pandya, Abhishek Raj scored 3 wins on a trot in the first match they accounted for Pradhikaran Youth Dynamos 3-0 then stopped the winning run of Pune Markers 3-0 in which Kamal Chawla scored a highest break of 67 against Vishal Shete and then scoring the hattrick of wins with 3-0 win against Corner Pockets Sharks.
Hustlers Royal scraped past Team Uttar Pradesh 2-1 with Rovin D'Souza defeating Neelesh Nagpal 60-3, 57-45, local favorite Siddharth Baran lost to Anuj Bhargav 37-53, 64-35, 32-65 in a thriller to tie the match score 1-1, in the decider Aditya Deshapande outplayed Shobit Pandey 55-22, 69-37 to take his team to the knock out stage.
In the best match of the day in group A match Parampara Outlaws potted out Gamers Anonymous Lions 3-0 with captain Guru Chilal scoring a 64-38, 30-55, 62-55 win over Abhimanu Dange, Anilesh Waghchaure scarped past Vinay Jagtap 27-42, 63-37, 80-13, while S.Shrivatsa overcoming Ameya Gokhale 55-24, 41-49, 67-25.
Last years winners and top seeds at the event Strachan Champs team comprising of Geet Sethi , Devendra Joshi and Faisal Khan will start their campai8ngn tomorrow playing their first match at 2.00 pm against Gamers Anonymous Lions.
