Arun routs hapless Siddharth; in
Billiards Quarters
Mumbai: Tested stalwart Arun Agarwal from Matunga Gymkhana seems to relish playing on a particular table (No.2) of the Malabar Hill Club, the hosts of the State senior snooker/Billiards Selection tournament. Late on Saturday night, he came up with a break of 56 in the first frame, 106 and unfinished 44 in the second and 40 in the final frame for a comprehensive 150 (56)- 70, 150 (106, 44 unf) – 25, 150 (40)- 80 over hapless Siddharth Sogani to move into the billiards quarterfinals.
It was a day of double joy for the Agarwals as Arun’s son Aditya, too,
displayed pretty good form to score over Pune’s Nishad Chowgule 150-85,
139-150, 150-80, 150-99 to join his father in the last eight stage.
The line-up for quarterfinals (to be played on Monday) is: Chandu Shah vs Aditya Agarwal; Rovin D’Souza vs Vishal Madan; Rajeev Sharma vs. Mahesh Jagdale and Arun Agarwal vs Rishab Kumar.
