Arun floors Rishabh on way to highest break

Arun Agarwal was in irresistible form as he totally outclassed Rishab Kumar  4-0  with a spate of breaks, culminating with an unfinished 150 – the highest in the tournament  - on his way to the billiards semifinal 4-player league in the Malabar Hill Club-State senior snooker/Billiards Selection tournament, hosted by Malabar Hill Club on Monday.

The Matunga Gymkhana stalwart, Arun is never in hurry, takes his own time and does not get ruffled even when things don’t go his way and the breaks (73 in the 1st frame, 65 in the 2nd, 44,61 in the third and unfurnished 150 in the fourth)  give clear indication of his total domination in his quarterfinal tie. Particularly in the fourth frame he was just at the top of form. He broke first and gave Rishab just one chance, before leaving his opponent high and dry with the unfinished break of 150.

However, Arun’s son junior billiards winner, Aditya was unlucky not to emulate his father when after leading 3-1 he lost  3-4 (79-151, 151-61, 84-150; 123-152, 150-97, 150-124, 151-96) against top seed Chandu Shah.

Another cueist  to impress was junior snooker champion Rovin D’Souza, who gave Vishal Madan a tough fight before going down 150-149, 89-150, 90-150, 143-150, 97-150.
