Kamal, Shivam claims the MAXIMUM; Struggle for other toppers

 

Main Round of Inaugural 6Red Snooker Nationals today started in KSBA Billiards Hall, Bangalore. In one of the opening matches, Kamal Chawla of Railways made the morning special when he smashed MAXIMUM (75) in the second frame of the match. His intentions were pretty much clear to touch MAXIMUM. The first frame he took five black and missed the long red pot in in yellow pocket. Second frame he went smooth with 75, the MAX. 3rd frame was normal but in fourth frame he went again for MAXIMUM but managed with 74 as he got to take a pink after falling self snook on black with pink.

 

On the other hand, Shivam Arora of Bihar made a MAXIMUM (75) in decider frame of his match against L. Nagaraj of Karnataka. After losing first two frames, Shivam compiled a break of 58 to win his first frame and then losing next frame, he won remaining two to pull Nagaraj into decider where after committing a foul by Nagaraj, Shivam took first red and compiled brilliantly the MAXIMUM (75) of 6-Red format.

 

Pankaj Advani played in the morning. After winning two frames, he went down in third but did not give chance to the opponent in remaining two frames and finished the proceedings 4-1.

 

Alok Kumar of PSPB struggled to win his first match. After winning first frame, Alok went down consecutive three frames against Hariharan of Karnataka. Then without giving chance to his opponent, Alok won the match 4-3.

 

The biggest upset of the day, when Manan Chandra (PSPB) went down 3-4 to K.S. Naveen Kumar of Karnataka. Naveen Kumar after losing first two frame, strike back and by winning next three frames, took lead of 3 frames to 2 over Manan. Manan though won the next frame but decider and match went in favour of Naveen Kumar.
