Title to Meenal; Pankaj storm into the Final

 

The current Billiards & Snooker (Women) champion, Meenal Thakur of Maharashtra added another title in her list, when she defeated four times national snooker (women) champion, Vidya Pillai of Tamil Nadu in OB Agarwal Memorial Inaugural 6Red Snooker Nationals being played in KSBA Billiards Hall, Bangalore.

 

After losing first frame, Vidya took 2-1 lead over Meenal but this was not enough to stop her as Meenal gave counter with next two frames to lead 3-2 over Vidya. Fifth frame saw Meenal constructing a brilliant break of 41. Tough Vidya further went ahead with another two frames and took a lead of 4-3.

 

Last two frames, Meenal did not give any chance to Vidya and displayed exceptionally well potting to win the first OM B Agarwal Memorial Inaugural 6Red (Women) Snooker Nationals.

 

In men’s category, Pankaj Advani (PSPB) storms into the Finals defeating his opponent Manan Chandra of PSPB 6 frames to 1. Pankaj shown his class and constructed five 50+ breaks out of total eight frames he played. First frame went in favour of Manan but there onwards, Pankaj did not give any chance to him and crafted breaks of 61, 52, 54, 70 and 66 in second, third, fourth, sixth and eight frames.

 

In another semi final, Brijesh Damani of West Bengal defeated Kamal Chawla (Railways) 7-5. Brijesh will now meet Pankaj Advani in the Final tomorrow (15.03.2010 @ 1600 hours).

 

Earlier in the morning session, Pankaj Advani (PSPB), Manan Chandra (PSPB), Kamal Chawla (Railways), Brijesh Damani (West Bengal) made it through to Semi Finals defeating their opponents comfortably.
