Pankaj lifts the title

 

Another title to Bangalore based, current Billiards & Snooker champion, Pankaj Advani (PSPB), he defeated Indoor Asian Games gold medalist Brijesh Damani (West Bengal) in a very close battle, 8-7 in OB Agarwal Memorial Inaugural 6Red Snooker Nationals held in KSBA Billiards Hall, Bangalore.

 

Pankaj after losing first frame, took a lead of 3-1 and it was looking that Pankaj will repeat the semi finals’ style in final too and rests at 5-2 at the end of first session.

 

Brijesh was not looking for that at all and dominated from the first frame in the second session. After winning the first frame, Brijesh shown confidence and winning one by another, he advanced to pankaj by 6 frames to 5 in Best of 15 frames encounter. Then onwards, in any body’s game, both the players moved ahead neck to neck and landed finally into decider.

 

In decider, Pankaj took a small initial lead and then with the exchange of few safety shots, finally Pankaj pocketed the frame and the title.

 

In 3rd and 4th placing match, Kamal Chawla beat Manan Chandra 4-3 and obtained bronze medal.
