2 Century Breaks on opening day

 

The Rupees 3.10 Lac Nahar Group-MIG All India Invitation Championship couldn't have had a better start with two cueists making a solid break of 100 and above. Sourav Kothari and Manan Chandra scoring 103 and 102 respectively in their breaks. They are the contenders for the Special Rs.10,000 prize for the highest break though there is a long way to go in this Tournament.

 

On the first day in this championship Seeded Sourav Kothari defeated Girish 4-2, Shahbaaz Adil Khan beat Gaurav Prabhu 4-0, Kamal Chawla beat Lucky Vatnani 4-2, Alok Kumar beat Manudev 4-2. Sandeep Gulathi created a flutter by beating the Experienced Yasin Merchant 4-2. Yasin had 2 big breaks of 88 and 92 and Sandeep had 83 and 89 as his highest. Manan Chandra beat Rishabh Pandya 4-3 in a thriller.

 

The tournament was inaugurated by Manju Yagnik from Nahar Group who stated that Sports was the need to build unity in this nation while Rajesh Yagnik, Director of Nahar Group who said he was happy his company fulfilled the commitment to sponsor the event as they first did in 2007 then in 2008 and to complete a hat trick this year.

 

The Asian Billiards Champion and No.1 Snooker player in India at the moment Pankaj Advani who has for the first time taken part in this Nahar-MIG Invitataion Tournament said he could take part in the previous two editions of this championship but is glad he could make it this time.
