The Devbhoomi
Uttarakhand State Open Ranking Billiards and Snooker Championship 2015 had the
balls rolling today. The event is jointly organized by Devbhoomi Billiards and
Snooker Association (DBBSA) and 147 Snooker Academy, Transport Nagar, Dehradun.
The opening ceremony was held today morning in the august presence of all the
sponsors and office bearers. Shri Ghanshyam Puri, President, DBBSA announced the
State Ranking tournament open and wished good luck to all the participants in
this prestigious event.
More than 150 players from all over Uttarakhand are participating in the State
Ranking events. The event will be played in 3 different categories: Sub-Junior
Snooker, Junior Snooker, as well as Senior Billiards and Snooker.
On day 1, the youngest participant of the group, Sameer Khan, was the toughest
to beat and has reached the Top 4 Stage.
The exciting match of the day was between Aryaman Pundir and Rohan Gurung. Both
displayed excellent potting skills and the match had a see-saw affair but
Aryaman came out on top in the later stages and thus won 2-1.
