09.10.2015 :: Nivesh Hurla made a strong comeback to enter quarter finals

The Devbhoomi Uttarakhand State Open Ranking Billiards and Snooker Championship 2015 had its 9th day today. The event is jointly organized by 147 Snooker Academy and Devbhoomi Billiards and Snooker Association (DBBSA).

The Top 16 matches of Senior Snooker were played today.

Kamal Bisht of Dehradun started off the day's proceedings by routing his opponent Sandeep of Sitarganj 3-0. Vivek Nautiyal of Dehradun beat Lakshay Sudi of Dehradun 3-1. Sagar Grover of Dehradun beat Shaan Alam of Ramnagar 3-1. Mustakeem Ansari of Dehradun beat Harshit Verma of Haldwani 3-1. The biggest upset of the day was caused by Rohit Bajaj of Rudrapur who beat the Defending Champion, Shailendra Dangwal, of Ramnagar 3-2, but later in the day, Rohit Bajaj lost to Arjan Anand of Dehradun 3-1. Alok of Dehradun beat Nihar Aggarwal of Haldwani in a tough match 3-2.

The highlight of the day was the match between Kapil Bajaj of Rudrapur and Nivesh Hurla of Dehradun. Kapil Bajaj started off strongly and won the first 2 frames quite easily, but Nivesh Hurla made a strong comeback winning the next 3 frames and the match 3-2.
