Multiple time West Bengal State Champion Manish
Jain of Shooting Stars was in superb form on second day of Bengal Premier League
and blazed two crackling breaks of 72 and 65 in two different matches.
In the first match against Shooting Stars, the score was 2-all and Manish had
the responsibility of the crucial decider frame where he had to face former
World Billiards Champion and Arjuna Awardee Rupesh Shah. But Manish was
completely focused and without wasting much time, he cracked up with a
magnificent break of 72 and saved the match for Elvy 147.
Later also his momentum was same but the team had lost against Snooking Shooters
1-3 and at that stage, he summed up with a break of 65 points against Vikrant
Gupta to narrow down the losing margin.
The day saw another upset when Brijesh Damani-led Satrangi Squad was handed a
shock defeat by The Rockets who crushed them 4-1. The game started on a positive
note with Damani leading at a point of time but Gulati made a strong comeback to
beat him 65-51 on the first frame. From there on, Damani’s team completely lost
their momentum and went on to lose their next three frames 100-48, 75-05, 32-16
before grabbing the consolation last frame 70-65 by Shreevardhan Poddar.

However, Satrangi Squad made a strong comeback in late
evening match and defeated City Knights 3-2. The doubles frame was exciting that
that stretched till the last. In the end, an excellent pink pot by Brijesh and
controlled black pot by Rohit Rajghariya put them ahead of City Knights.
Terence Mack pulled the 6Reds frame for City Knights to make it 2-all but Rahul
Berlia held the nerve and won it 67-20.
