The
only foreign invitee, Kelly Fisher from England who landed today put
herself straightaway in the match conditions and played and won all
three round robin matches in a row to top the Group A.
First match she played against Hitanshu Manchanda of Delhi, whom she
easily defeated 9-3.
After that she spent some tough time against the former national junior
Snooker champion, Avinash Kumar, who at one stage was leading 6-3 and
looking forward to cause upset but Fisher clutched him on time and won
back to back 3 racks to come at par. From there onwards, both of them
tightened the rope and reached the decider where Kelly held her nerve
better and made it 9-8.
She continued the zeal in next frame too to defeat Local boy Rishabh
Thakkar winning 9 racks to 1 and gained 2nd seed position for the
knockouts.
In pre-quarters she once again shown her supremacy by defeating Daksh
Reddy of Karnataka 9-6 to confirm her fourth win of the day and advance
to Quarter finals.
