Shrikrishna, Digvijay, Kreishh and Ranveer enter Sub-Junior snooker semis

 

 

Maharastra’s Kreishh Gurbaxani along with top seed S Shrikrishna and second seed Digvijay Kadian and Chandigarh based Ranveer Duggal sailed into semifinals of the sub-junior semifinals on Sunday.

In the ongoing National Billiards and Snooker Championship at PYC Hindu Gymkhana, Kreishh defeated Fahad Salar of Uttar Pradesh 20-59, 68-26, 57-20, while Digvijay Kadian of Haryana scripted 55-43, 24-53, 71-28 win over Delhi’s Shoaib Khan.

However, it was Chandigarh’s Ranveer Duggal who scripted the upset of the day by beating Mumbai’s Sparsh Pherwani 75-20, 69-39.

Ranveer who had earlier defeated Delhi’s Sumit Awasthi (DEL) 70-41, 18-53, 48-44 in the pre-quarterfinals, continued his form in the quarters too.

12 year aged Ranveer, a standard VI student of St Stephen’s School, Chandigarh started playing nationals at a very young age and shown progress over the years. He was also part of World Under-18 Championship held in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2015.

On the other hand, Sparsh said that he was exhausted with the junior billiards match, he played just before the quarterfinals.

“Although, it’s not an excuse, as I couldn’t focus on the board. Now I am more concentrated my efforts in the juniors section and hoping to do well"  he said after the match..
