Qualifiers Sparsh and Shobhit enters the pre-quarter finals

 

 

Out of eight junior cueists who qualified last night for the National Junior Snooker main round, Sparsh Pherwani (Maharashtra) and Shobhit Sethi (Punjab) were the two who entered in the pre-quarter finals of the National Junior Snooker Championship at PYC Hindu Gymkhana, Pune.

Sparsh, who was suffering from mild illness, gave walkover on Tuesday to S Srikrishna in the last league match of sub-junior billiards. Now he concentrated all his efforts on juniors and justified his decision with the consecutive wins. Today he defeated Vipan Malli of J&K 3-1 in last-64 and then Kavya Bharath of Tamil Nadu with the same score 3-1 in last-32.

Another player, Shobhit Sethi of Punjab who qualified for main round, defeated Muzammil Sheikh of Goa 3-1 and then knocked out Vishwas Mangla of Haryana 3-0.
