Manish Jain crowned
Snooker champion
Aamer Hussain had won State
Billiards Title
The West Bengal State Ranking tournament 2014 has been accomplished and
interesting to note that the billiards and snooker titles are lifted by
the players who are apparently known for other discipline from that they
won.
Well
known for Billiards skills, Manish Jain
emerged as West Bengal State Snooker Champion today with a 4-3 victory
against Arshad Zama. Playing in his maiden State ranking final, Arshad
made a good comeback to lead 3-2 and needed a frame to annex the title.
As they say, when the going
gets tough, the tough gets going, Manish proved he was the tougher of the
two to take the next two frames and the first crown of the season. Manish
had a break of 68 in the first frame which he won 73-07 and a 59 in the
second (67-15).
Whereas in Billiards State
Ranking, this year the title went to well known snookerist from state,
Aamer Hussain. He beat Mohd. Akram Khan in straight set of games 4-0 to
