Damani achieves top-8 in all forms of Senior Nationals in a calendar year

India’s one of the top-ranked players, Brijesh Damani from Kolkata, who represents IOCL becomes the second player after Pankaj Advani to be in the Top-8 of Senior National Ranking of a calendar year in all forms of cue-sports discipline.

During the recently concluded senior categories of National Championships, Brijesh Damani achieved to be in the Top-8 of 6Reds, Snooker and Billiards.

Starting the campaign with 6Reds format, Brijesh won all three matches of his group and then in knockouts defeated Santosh R. from Karnataka, his team-mate from IOCL Aditya Mehta to reach quarter-finals, where he lost to Manan Chandra 4-6. Later in the position matches, he stayed No.7.

Moving to Snooker, Brijesh again qualified from the group as No.1 and in knockouts, he ousted Dilip Kumar from Railways, Kreishh Gurbaxani from Maharashtra, Laxman Rawat of IOCL to reach the semifinals and confirmed the medal. In semis, he lost to Ishpreet Singh and claimed the Bronze medal after defeating Kamal Chawla of Railways in the position match.

The next journey was Billiards where once again he qualified from the group winning all three matches and then in knockouts he reached the medals round defeating Rovin D’Souza of Railways, Siddharth Parikh of Railways, S. Shrikrishna from BPCL. In the semis, he lost to Dhruv Sitwala of ONGC and then defeated B. Bhaskar of Karnataka in for the position match to claim the next Bronze medal.
