Damani defeats Babar to qualify for knockouts of 2nd SAARC Snooker Championship 2022

Brijesh Damani from India reaches the knockout stage of the 2nd Sheikh Kamal SAARC Snooker Championship 2022 ongoing at the Dhaka Club in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In the last round-robin match Damani defeated Babar Masih of Pakistan with a magnificent century break of 118 in the deciding frame.

Damani dominated the initial rounds of the match with two classy breaks of 64 and 97 in the first two frames to keep Babar on 08 and 00 scores. In the third frame, Babar scored 35 points but Damani cemented his lead 3-0 by winning the frame 84-35 in the best of 7 frames match.

After that Babar returned to the game and took away the fourth frame scoring 81 against 36. In fifth and sixth frame Babar made two breaks of 97 and 66 to set the decider where Damani put Babar on zero scoring and sent first century break (118) of the tournament to win the frame 122-00 and the match 4-3.
