National Junior Billiards Champion 2015 -
Ishpreet Chadha of Maharashtra
After winning Nationals Sub-Junior Snooker title last night, Ishpreet
Chadha of Maharashtra, wins the national junior billiards title today here
in BRC-GLOSTER National Billiards & Snooker Championship being played at
Bengal Rowing Club, Kolkata.
Ishpreet, however, lost the last league match by 115 points against S.
Shrikrishna but having better average after three round robin matches, he
has been declared as champion of junior billiards. His overall average
after three matches was 147.33.
Earlier Ishpreet had defeated Nikhil Pise of Karnataka last night by 380
points (535-155) and routed Jagadesh B. of Tamil Nadu by 182 points
(585-403).
After winning the last match, S. Shrikrishna also bettered his average to
121.00 and became No.2. His state-mate Jagadesh B. remained No.3 having an
average of 112.33.
Junior Snooker qualifying:
The second round of Junior Snooker qualifying has started and received
mixed result for West Bengal players. Where Arafat Mondal, Imran Gomes and
Md. Shoaib did well and reached into third round, Ayush Namchu and Irshaad
Ali failed to deliver their best and lost.
Arafat Mondal and Md. Shoaib defeated Param Brahma Subodhi (Odisha) and
Siddhant Bastia (Delhi) respectively in straight set of frames 3-0, Imran
Gomes gave away one frame before reaching in third round 3-1.
