Avinash reaches into
top-4 of Junior Snooker without losing a single frame
Avinash
Kumar of Delhi in action
Avinash Kumar of Delhi has been the most successful player so far in this
year's BRC-GLOSTER National Billiards & Snooker Championship being played
here at Bengal Rowing Club, Kolkata.
Starting his journey from qualifying, he entered into main round and now
has confirmed his entry into top-4 round robin stage of Junior snooker. The most
interesting fact that he has not yet lost a single frame in total 8
matches he played so far (4 each in qualifying and main round).
The added glory for him was today where he caused biggest upset by
defeating Sub-junior snooker and junior billiards champion, Ishpreet
Chadha who was the front-runner for national junior title. Avinash beat
him in straight set of frames 3-0. The score line itself says that he
dominated the match his own way.
However, Ishpreet also competed well in the first frame but fall short to
the score of Avinash. After losing the second frame one-sided, Ishpreet
again tried with few points in third frame but not that enough to stop
Avinash.
Avinash joined by Hritik Jain (Madhya Pradesh), S. Shrikrishna (Tamil Nadu)
and M.L. Laxman (Karnakata) in last four for round-robin.
Senior Billiards Qualifying matches have also started today to select 4
qualifiers those will join in main round, which will start from Monday,
the 12th January.
