Ishpreet conquers SAARC Snooker 2022; Brijesh stays runner-up

Ishpreet Singh of India has won the 2nd Sheikh Kamal SAARC Snooker Championship 2022 after winning the final match 7-3 against his compatriot Brijesh Damani.

Ishpreet stayed undefeated in the group stage matches and claimed the top-seed position for the knockouts where his first match was scheduled against Babar Masih of Pakistan. The match remained almost one-sided and Ishpreet ousted Babar 5-1.

Semi-final match was tough for Ishpreet where 2021 world champion, Ahsan Ramzan of Pakistan gave him a tough fight but in the end, Ishpreet knocked him out 6-4.

And today in the final, Ishpreet won against Brijesh Damani 7-3 to claim the coveted SAARC Snooker Trophy for the year 2022.

The BSFI President Rajan Khinvasara, Vice President Pradip Saraogi and Secretary Sunil Bajaj were also present at the closing ceremony where both the Indian players were presented with Winners' and Runners-up trophies.
